THE MAGNETIC POWER OF GOD’S EVERLASTING LOVE

Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

1 John 3:1 “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! . . .”

Focus: God is constantly at work drawing us to a deeper, richer, more beautiful awareness, understanding, and appreciation of His everlasting Love.

Our God is indeed a most WONDERFUL God.  Moment-by-moment, He is drawing us more-and-more, to an awareness of the reality, of His Presence in our lives.  In the first verse, God says to all of us, “I have always Loved you.”  God Loved us even before we came into existence in this world.  Wow!!!  It is almost as if He just could not wait for us to come into being.  So now that we are here, He tells us every day, in every way, I, GOD, LOVE YOU; I, YOUR GOD, JUST CANNOT HELP LOVING YOU!!!

God wants us to know the reality of His Love, as He expresses it in every event of our daily lives.  God, Himself, wakes us up every morning.  The Bible says, “. . . Morning by morning He wakens Me, and opens my understanding to His will.  He wants our days to be prosperous, so He gives us guidance when we choose to read His Word.  When we obey, it makes Him Happy for two main reasons.  First we demonstrate our appreciation of His Love for us.  Secondly when our obedience involves helping others, God is well pleased, because He gets to show them His Love through our actions.

As situations arise during the day, God draws us to turn to Him in Prayer, because He does not want us to be anxious about anything.  God enjoys surprising us by drawing the attention of someone to do an unexpected deed, or by giving us something that we always wanted.  When we receive a birthday card, God wants us to know that He created it, so that He can celebrate with us.  Every time we see a baby’s smile, a puppy wagging its tail, a rainbow, or a sunset, these things are drawing us to experience God’s intimate Love; even as they fulfill His desire to make us happy.

When we sin, God’s Love draws us to seek His forgiveness.  He reasons with us, so that we can see where we went wrong, and how the incident could have been avoided.  God never condemns us, He patiently corrects, comforts, and encourages. We are truly drawn to Him, as we experience His Mercy and Grace, which gives us power to confess, forsake, and overcome sin.  This draws us to be forever Grateful for His Compassion.

Our second verse tells us that God calls us His children as an expression of His Love.  He is delighted to give us the privilege and honour of calling Him Father.  He cherishes us and we are very precious in His sight.  God wants us to know and understand that we mean everything to Him.  He Created us for His Pleasure, and He enjoys His relationship with us.  He Loves us ALL, and we are accepted UNCONDITIONALLY.
