REALIZING GOD’S PROVIDENCE

Luke 19:4 "And he ran up before, and climbed into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way".
Zacchaeus was 'physically challenged', in that he was short. Having defects, is common to humanity, but they should not define us. God is well able to take care of our defects. God always provides something or someone that can aid us along the way. As long as we demonstrate determination, commitment and faith with the understanding that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength, then much can be achieved.
In Zacchaeus' case, he did not allow his short stature to deter him from seeing Jesus. Instead, he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed the sycamore tree, so that he could have an uninterrupted view of Jesus, as he passed by. The sycomore tree, being huge in size, would have been there for years, but perhaps was of no benefit to Zacchaeus, other than to provide shade. However, on that special day, the tree took on a whole new meaning. It was just what he needed, the resource that God provided. It replaced Zacchaeus' deficiency.
Zacchaeus was given all the height that he needed. Like Zacchaeus, we have
deficiencies- situations and conditions that are preventing us from realizing our goals and desires. As a result, we can become socially, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually deprived. The solution is that we must submit to the guidance of Holy Spirit, as He makes us aware of the resources that He has provided to help us in the time of need.
God’s resources are limitless. He may provide a house, a car, the newspaper, technology, a person or in Zacchaeus' case a tree. Whatever, God in His providence, has provided for us, let use to His glory and honour. Our lives will take on a whole new meaning.
