REACH OUT AND TOUCH JESUS

Mark 5:29-30
29. "And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?"
Verse 29 outlines what happened after the woman reached out and touched Jesus. The verse states that straightway, that is immediately, the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. What a demonstration of divine power! That which, for twelve years was incurable by the many medical practitioners, that she attended, was remedied in a slip second by the Great Physician. It is noteworthy that no verbal communication ensued between Jesus and the sick woman, but there was a definite link between them. What was the connectivity? It was her anchored faith in Jesus, His Omnipotence and His restorative power. Our impossibilities become possibilities when we are connected to Jesus. Being connected to Jesus brings new energy and vitality to our lives; it produces light where there was once darkness and it provides hope where there was only despair.
Verse 30 focuses on Jesus' declaration after the woman's touch. It states,
"And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?" We can be assured that nothing goes unnoticed with Jesus. As with the woman, when we, by faith reach out and touch Jesus, His virtue, which is His miraculous power, causes healing, restoration and rejuvenation. A great crowd was following Him, which meant that many people were touching Him from all angles, yet He recognized the woman's special touch of faith.
Billions of people live in our world. They have a multiplicity of needs, and many of them are praying daily to God. Large numbers are not deterrents to God. He hears the heartfelt cries of each one and He has a unique answer that fits our individual needs. He will always hear and answer our faintest cry. We can be confident that He loves and cares for us and desires the best for us. Our touch of faith will never go unheeded. Reach out now and touch Him by faith.
