MEEKNESS IS NOT WEAKNESS

Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."
A Bible commentary describes the meek as those who are not easily angered, and if angered, will soon be pacified.
The word 'meek' does not mean 'weak'.
Meekness is the quality or attitude that shows a person is willing to be submissive to God, who alone, is the answer to all of our human needs.
Therefore, we must seek to live God-centered lives, rather than self-centered ones.
Meekness from the perspective of a Christian, is exercising faith in God. It is trusting God to fight our battles, instead of fighting them, using our own frail weapons. God never losses a battle. He is a Conqueror. Through Christ, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). The meek person sees himself or herself under God's control, rather than being in control.
The meek shall inherit the earth. Those who, by God's grace, develop the characteristics that are befitting for God's ambassadors, shall inherit eternal life. God is willing to develop within us, the spirit of meekness. Our response must be 'not my will, but Yours, Oh, Lord!'
