Lessons From The Ant

Proverbs 6:6-8 'Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.' Our verses of focus teach some characteristics about the ant.

  1. The ant is not lazy. It is hardworking and industrious.

  2. It is self-driven; it functions effectively without supervision.

  3. It is frugal, it knows how to plan for its future needs.

We are admonished to observe the ant. This little creature that goes about its business unnoticed, is very successful. The essence of the verses is that God endowed the ant with the ability to plan; to be resourceful and responsible. we have such ability and more. So many of us live for today,(physically and spiritually) not giving any thought to the future.

How we live today is a prerequisite for our future. a life loved for Jesus now, is a life that will be lived with Him eternally.

Let us consider the ant and be wise.
