Leaning On God

Proverbs 3:5 'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.'

God has granted us the ability to grasp knowledge in so many areas of life. In some instances, we even consider ourselves and others to be experts in particular fields, to the extent that we 'sit' in positions as consultants and advisors.

We must be ever cognizant of the fact that our understanding of life is finite; limited and determined by many variables. Our verse of focus gives sound counsel. We must trust the lord wholeheartedly; sincerely; unreservedly.

Human understanding is always subject to error. What appears to be right choice may be wrong one. Therefore we should not lean on our own understanding. Our understanding, topped with God's infinite wisdom and omniscience(the state of knowing everything), will bring blessings; success and favor to our lives. We can be confident that the lord sees the big picture; the total picture. May we trust him to lead us now and into the unknown future.
