INVITATION TO REST

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Focus: Finding sweet rest in the promises of GOD.

Rest is extremely important. It restores vitality to the body, and it revives the spirit. Rest also gives us the opportunity to experience delight, especially when it is done with someone you love; a spouse, a child, a cherished friend.

However, the magnificence of the ‘rest’ referred to in this verse, is the fact that the GREAT GOD of the Universe is inviting you, to rest with Him! God has solemnly promised, that when you come to Him, you will find Divine relief, release, and relaxation. When you accept His invitation, marvelous blessings are in store for you. When you accept God’s invitation, you will experience great change in your life.

In exchange for your hard labour, God will give you a hearty, lasting relationship with Himself. His gentleness will calm your spirit, and He will teach you how to live the ‘more abundant life’. He will teach you how to think, so that you can learn how to avoid making costly mistakes. God wants to be your ‘personal life trainer’, so that you can have His constant Companionship, as He daily walks and talks with you.

If you accept God’s invitation, you have HIS DIVINE ASSURANCE that what is now hard will become easy, and all that is now heavy will become light. Please, accept His invitation without delay.
