GOD'S ABUNDANT BLESSINGS

Luke 5:6-7
6. "And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink."
Our verses of focus record the awesome power of God displayed at sea. When Peter and his compatriots obeyed Jesus' command, they were inundated with fish of varying sizes, to the point, that their nets began to break, and they had to call for help. When all had settled, their abundant catch filled both boats. Verse 7 points out that the catch was so great, that the boats began to sink. It was humanly impossible for Peter to have imagined what would be the outcome of his obedience to Jesus' command and the exercising of his faith. God requires us to accept His sovereignty; to believe His word and to submit to His will.
Like Peter, we stand amazed at the bounteous blessings that are daily bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father. He gives us health; sustenance; shelter; and protection, just to name a few. God always fills our cups, to the overflow. As we are blessed, we are encouraged to share our 'catch' with others. When Peter saw the extent of his catch of fish, he shared it with the other fishermen. May we allow the Holy Spirit to build our faith and give us the patience to wait expectantly to see the blessings that God has in store for us.
