GOD, OUR DAILY PROVIDER

Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread."
These words are indicative of the fact that we acknowledge God's daily providential care and provisions for us. It is noteworthy that the verse speaks to the needs and the provisions of the day and not of supplies that we can put in storage or hoard.
This points out the fact, that we need to come to God each day, in prayer, for His faithful supply of our 'daily bread', which is all that we need daily to sustain life.
God has promised to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19)
Each day, there are numerous promises that God fulfills in our lives. We ought to count our blessings and name them one by one, and we
would realize what the Lord has done for us. Our Heavenly Father daily provides for our physical, our emotional, our social, our psychological and our spiritual needs. Our healthy bodies that enable us to move freely; the food on our tables; our jobs that create the opportunities for us to earn livelihoods; our homes that physically shelter us day and night ; and the safety and protection that we experience, as we move from point to point, all are forms of 'daily bread' that God provides.
Each day, we ought to be thankful to God for He is good, very good to us.The spiritual aspect of this prayer is a reminder that our souls need to be fed daily. Through His word, the Bible, 'our daily bread', God has made ample provision for us to receive spiritual sustenance and nourishment. Reading and applying God's Word enable us to grow and develop spiritually. May we, by faith, through prayer, continue to have the daily communion with God, who is the caring, dependable, sincere supplier of our needs.
